Grand Jeté is a choreographic project by Silvia Gribaudi, realised with MM Contemporary Dance Company, an Italian company directed by Michele Merola.
Starting from one of the most virtuoso steps of ballet, this new creation by Silvia Gribaudi explores the end as a source for new beginnings. A “grand jeté” that metaphorically represents a transition step, a “jump” towards something unknown, and an opportunity to rebel and challenge the irreversibility of any kind of ending. How much effort does this take-off into the unknown require and what prospects can a landing open up? In light of this explosive leap of energy, how can we deal with failure as a resource for taking off again?
