From the ballroom scene of 1980s New York, where queer minorities challenged one another through catwalks to celebrate their identity and artistic expression, to the Love Parades of 1990s Berlin, where rhythm and movement became acts of manifestation for peace, unity and love without labels or restrictions.
It all begins with the question “Why are we still afraid of talking about love?” and continues with the desire to encourage, rather than deny, this feeling, which remains at the centre of human existence.
Bio
ocram dance movement was founded in 2013 by Marco Laudani and Claudio Scalia. The idea of creating an ensemble of dancers as a tool for in-depth study and research has developed over the years, leading to the creation of 25 productions presented at major international festivals and supported, among others, by the Italian Cultural Institutes in New York, Stuttgart, Sofia, Athens and Istanbul.
Since 2022, the company has been associated with Scenario Pubblico, Centro di Rilevante Interesse per la Danza.
Glenda Gheller was born in Asiago and trained in Italy before moving to the United Kingdom, where she graduated with a First Class Honours Degree from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds. She then joined Verve, the junior company directed by Matthew Robinson. In 2019, she completed a Master’s degree in Contemporary Dance Performance.
In 2020, she joined Scottish Dance Theatre in Dundee, performing works by international choreographers including Sharon Eyal, Emanuel Gat, Botis Seva and Joan Clevillé. Since 2023, she has collaborated in Italy with Sofia Nappi’s company Komoco. For the past six years, Glenda has taught classes and workshops around the world.
As a choreographer, she made her debut in 2022 with Achilles’, followed by Love Parade in 2025 and the solo Camaré in 2025. In spring 2026, she will create la figlia femmina for Balletto di Calabria, and in June she will create a new production for the graduating students of the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds.
