Manifestus
Jacopo Jenna
The Latin term MANIFESTUS, meaning clear or evident, contains the word manus, meaning hand. To manifest is a way of saying “I AM HERE”: it is the moment in which we collectively grasp a fleeting fragment of reality and make it visible to the audience, to the square, to others. The choreography explores an abstract form of movement, starting from hand gestures and drawing on different street dance practices. It creates a complex energetic space in constant transformation, where performers manifest themselves through dance within the flow of the present moment.

Bio
Jacopo Jenna is a choreographer and director. His work investigates choreography as an expanded practice, through research that moves between dance and video, exploring new possibilities for embodying movement, crossing different languages and generating multiple performative contexts.
He graduated in Sociology from the University of Urbino and continued his dance studies in the Netherlands at Codarts, Rotterdam Dance Academy. He works in training and educational programmes for different age groups, developing new strategies for engaging with the performing arts.
