HORIZON KOINÉ Bolero is Masako Matsushita’s reinterpretation of Maurice Ravel’s celebrated Boléro. The work embraces the richness and vitality of the Boléro as a synonym for universal dance and as the embodiment of a union between different artistic expressions and cultures.
HORIZON KOINÉ Bolero is a shared horizon, a meeting point where the distinctive features of different traditions merge into a single language, capable of transcending space and time.
Bio
Masako Matsushita is an Italian-Japanese multidisciplinary artist based in Pesaro. Her work focuses on the analysis of movement through research processes, choreographic projects, performative installations and community interaction. She explores the presence of the body in space with the aim of generating architectures for socialisation through the senses, scores and maps, investigating the connection between culture and aesthetics, identity and tradition, virtual devices and sensory practices.
