Open class as part of Spazio MURA 2025
A classical dance class in a public space, open to anyone ready to take part. Le classique, c’est chic! is a collective action that decolonizes the academic codes of ballet, giving the body the freedom to inhabit space. An accessible, intergenerational, and spontaneous practice that invites participants to dance without mirrors, without judgement, but with the full power of their presence.
Bio
Trained at the Ballet School of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Anna Basti has performed with numerous contemporary dance companies across Italy and Europe. Since 2013, she has developed artistic and performative projects exploring bodily practices and choreographic hierarchies, blending theatre, urban dance, and relational art. In 2019, she launched Le classique, c’est chic!, a platform for critical rethinking the academic ballet technique.
