The Lovers

The lovers draws inspiration from the casts made of the bodies found in Pompei following the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 BC.
A hug set in time by the overwhelming force of nature is given life again in Adriano Bolognino’s creation through the gestures and bodies of the dancers on stage.
A hug with no identity that lets the audience witness this special story which has been going on for more than 2000 years, making the audience partner and accomplice in an universal sentiment: an endless and unbreakable love.
