ERECTUS
Pithecanthropus
Abbondanza/Bertoni Company
Erectus – Pithecanthropus borrows the experimental and unpredictable attitude of jazz to bring on stage an unconventional imaginative introspection from a male point of view.
The four dancers’ naked bodies interact with the notes of the homonymous 1956 album by Charles Mingus, in the attempt to transform this event into “sound to be seen”.
This attempt results in a choreographic performance of an abstract nature, which tries to reveal and discover the animal soul of the “twenty-first century Martian male”, through free, wild and unashamed bodies.
